Day1: Reach Periyar - Cloud Walk |
|
Check-in Koshys before lunch. You will be briefed
about the place and the activities. After lunch you
relax and get used to the chill whether at Periyar.
By evening, get ready with your trekking shoes,
before our first adventure activity in Periyar - the
Cloud Walk. You will be met by a forest
guide, who will explain about the Trek. We will
follow him up the hills of Kurushumala, a scenic
view point on the boundary of the Tiger Reserve. You
will have a birds eye view of the reserve and spot
where our activities are going to be in the next
couple of days. |

After we get our breath back to normal
as
we put our
first step in the reserve. Periyar tiger Reserve,
is an example of nature’s bounty, with great scenic
charm, rich bio diversity and providing veritable
visitor satisfaction. Sprawled over an area of 777
Sq .km., Periyar is one of the 27 tiger reserves in
India. We continue our walk through the reserve
until we reach the Mannan Tribal Colony. We will be
met by a Tribal guide who will take us around the
tribal museum. We will reach back to Koshys to
discuss about our walk over a warm cup of coffee.

Day 2: Safari to the interiors of the Reserve |
|
We wake up early in the morning for the full day
Jungle Safari in the Tiger Reserve. We will head
to Gavi, 50 Kms away, on our open 4x4 Jeep. We
should reach the Tiger Reserve by dawn so that we
have the best chance to see wildlife. In Periyar
Tiger Reserve there is a rich diversity of
vertebrates. The diverse forest types, vayals,
marshes, and a large aquatic habitat together
support 62 species of mammals, 320 species of birds,
45 species of reptiles, 27 species of amphibians,
and 38 species of fishes. |

We will have lunch at the Green Mansion forest
Lodge. We can do a trek in the forest, children can
have fun on the paddle
boat or relax at the beautiful garden facing the
lake at Gavi. Afternoon head back to Kumily on our
jeep. |

Day 3: A Day with the
Elephants |
|
After
breakfast we head to the Elephant Centre where we
will be welcomed by the tuskers. We will do an
elephant safari through the plantations near the
tiger reserve. We also have an opportunity to feed
the elephants and have an elephant bath. Today is at
leisure. We will also walk to the near by Organic
Farm. Mr. James will take us for a walk through him
well kept organic garden. You can visit the Spice Garden of Kumily,
visit the plantations or take a drive to the nearby
picnic spots. |

Day 4: Depart |
|
After Breakfast you
will depart back home from this beautiful hill
county. |
